Brevitest’s initial commercial product was the development of the portable “Liquid Autopsy” device for coroners and medical examiners. The Liquid Autopsy solution provides on-site, rapid determination if the cause of death was drug-related, eliminating the long delays and costs associated with sending a decedent to a lab for a traditional autopsy, which leaves family members with no answer for weeks or even months. The Brevitest forensic solution solved a critical pain point in a high-need market, driven by a shortage of forensic pathologies. It also validated the robustness of the technology in one of the most challenging environments: analyzing decomposing blood.
Solving that challenge led directly to the Company’s broader breakthrough - the ability to rapidly and accurately measure biomarkers in living blood. Building on this foundation, Brevitest developed the Bioscale product, a revolutionary on-demand, quantitative blood biomarker measurement system developed for use outside the lab. Bioscale will usher in a phase shift in how the health & wellness market measures short term changes inside the body by providing semi-continuous biomarker monitoring on-demand.
